A few months ago, I came across someone online who had a collection of “hyperspecific media” in her phone's notes app. It was a collection of poems, song lyrics, movies quotes and anything else that reminded her of certain feelings. It was an anthology of media that reflected her emotions over time. I fell in love with that idea so I started my own collection.
The first collection that I wanted to share I titled "unrequited heartbreak". Unrequited love is described as a "one sided love". I like to think there's also unrequited heartbreak - a one sided heartbreak where a relationship meant more to one person than it did the other. Where one person was desperately in love and the other wasn't. I believe it goes hand in hand with one sided love. And brings me to say: if you can't commit to someone, if you know you can't love them the way they deserve to be loved, if you can’t support them when they need it the most, then leave them the hell alone.
